                                  ABOUT GLEN FORD

Glen Ford is a professional photographer with an eye for timeless photographs. Highly personable and a delight to have at a wedding, Glen takes time to enable couples and their guests to feel at ease and to enjoy their day.

After 10 years and some 200 weddings, Glen only photographs a handful of weddings each year and his favourite venue is the Barn at Bury Court. The Barn is a special and wonderful place, full of charm and quiet, hospitable and beautiful. It is the perfect setting to get married.

Glen is unusual in that he uses film, a mixture of black and white and colour. This is because he loves the natural texture of film, the way it captures the light and because it creates an authentic look to the photographs. The majority of his photographs are taken in black and white, as they are more flattering and capture the atmosphere of the day. There are always a number of colour photographs, as it is nice to capture some of the colours from the day.

His photography style is reportage, with some posed photographs. There are always some pictures that work well if you arrange things and for some people, like close relatives and friends, some informal poses make for lovely memories from the day.

There is a classic theme to his work, as many pictures would grace any wall. His eye for composition is exceptional and his ability to set couples at ease means the pictures have a natural feel to them.

Glen lives in Lincolnshire with his wife and his youngest daughter, and he also has 3 grown up daughters. The Barn at Bury Court is a long way to travel to photographs, which is a measure of how much good this venue is for wedding photographs.

                                  INFORMATION

Glen's approach to the day is the same for all weddings, starting around 3 hours before the ceremony and finishing around 9pm in the evening.

His photographic style is a combination of contemporary and classic, which means some of his photographs are reportage and some are posed, creating some truly beautiful and stunning photographs. He takes a great deal of care to photograph guests in an informal way, capturing the smiles, laughter, impromptu hugs and the atmosphere of the day.

He takes a small selection of formal family photographs, which include immediate families, bridal party, bride with her bridesmaids, the groom with the 'boys' and the bride and groom together. Photographs of the details of the day, including flowers, table details, the venue and other such details are always taken. There are usually some requests for informal groups with friends or 'long lost relatives'!

People are very appreciative of his approach to the day, which is to get to know the VIP guests well, to blend in and make sure the right photographs are taken, but without distracting from the day.

He normally produces around 300 to 400 photographs, which are collated to form a master collection of around 150-200 which are uploaded to a website for viewing. The remaining photographs are provided to the couple to keep for sentimental value.
